Motive Television plc is pleased to announce that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Motive Television Services Ltd. (Motive) has signed a contract with CET 21 spol. s r.o. (CET 21), a subsidiary of Central European Media Enterprises Ltd. (CME), to provide its Television Anytime Anywhere technology platform to support CET 21’s anticipated launch of a new television service using its Voyo content platform over digital terrestrial television (Voyo DTT services) in the Czech Republic.
Under the five-year agreement, Motive will have overall responsibility for delivery and management of the project by providing its patented Television Anytime Anywhere technology and certain engineering and operational services to CET 21, and acting as systems integrator. The project will begin in July 2012 and is planned to be ready for commercial launch by early 2013.
Motive is entitled to earn non-recurring engineering fees based on achieving certain performance milestones and monthly license and maintenance fees based on the number of subscribers to the Voyo DTT services following commercial launch.
Although the agreement addresses the implementation of Motive’s technology for the Voyo DTT services in the Czech Republic, a further rollout to CME’s other markets is possible. CME is one of Europe’s leading media and entertainment companies with operations in six countries with a combined population of 50 million people.
Leonard M Fertig, CEO of Motive, commented:
“This agreement represents the result of a long evaluation and planning process after which CME decided to choose Motive’s Television Anytime Anywhere platform to provide new television services in the Czech Republic and potentially the rollout of similar services in other CME’s markets. It is a transforming deal for Motive as it again confirms the value of our Television Anytime Anywhere platform against competitors and validates the Company’s business model.”
